Today was another great day in work experience with Junior infants.
In the morning the girls were doing Irish. I walked around and helped
all the girls with their Irish.
Later on i was asked to make some
maths posters for the classrooms. i did it with th TY who was in the
other Junior Infants. We had to draw,paint and cut out the pictures etc
for the class room.We completed these and the two teacherswere very
happy with the finished product! this took us till Lunch time to finish.
Last week we decided (Between the 5 tys that r on work exp. in the school) we would have a 'hot chocolate Lunch' the following each. we deceided what everyone had to bring eg. on girl brought the hot choco. I made cookies!!! So we all had hot chocolate and cookies at Lunch 2day! It was yummy.... :)
After
Lunch I walked around and helped out. Then the teacher asked me to
paint and cut out letters to make a sign. Before the day was finished i
also helped skick art to white pages.
I am really enjoying work
experience and dont want it to end. I love working with the children. I dont want to leave I want to stay for the whole year!! :) it
has really shown be (so far) that would like to be a teacher in the
future.
This Wednesday was the 6th week of work experience! I cant believe
how fast it has gone, only for weeks left! this was the first week back
after mid-term
. Today, when I came into the classroom all the
girls were sitting in different places because that had all changed
places after the mid term. It was hard to remember all the names of the
girls because I knew them by where they sit but i eventually got use to
it!! In the morning, I went around each girls desk first
giving them notes for home and then cut out characters for their
homework. While i was doing this the principal came done and asked would
she be able to take me to do the book Fair with the other girl in working
experience. I was really delighted to do it! When
I wasn't helping at the book fair in the hall I was helping the junior
infants in whatever the were doing and did some art with them also! During the day myself and the other tys managed the book fair. We looked after the payment of books,order of books and helping all the students find books they wanted. We basically ran a small book store for a day!! I really like being the book fair women lol :) I really enjoyed this. I learnt many new skills such as money management. Today was another enjoyable day, I really enjoyed helping out with the Book Fair!
Today was my 5th day/week in work experience in the primary school! I have really got to know (what i call) my junior infants over the past few week. :)
Today was a very busy day as per usual when working with 4 and 5 year olds! In
the morning and throughout the day i walked around the class and helped
them with whatever they were doing. I answered any questions they had
and helped as much as I could!
After break i minded/looked after
the girls for 10 minutes because the class teacher was having her break
(she had been on yard duties) this was a great experience because i
learnt how to control the class alone and keep them quiet while
colouring. I also did art with the girls again with the girls
which again was not only great fun but valuable too! In art we did some
more cutting and painting.
The other duties i performed were cutting out
signs for the teacher,doing messages for her and photocopying! the photocopying took a while but I eventually got it after about 4 trys
Today
i also was given cutting to by another teacher in the school for her
classes. I also did some filing for a senior infant teacher. All
interactions with staff and pupils as per usual were good.
I really enjoyed the day once again! Cant wait till next :)
